****Update****: Screenshots here

Got billed by the VPN service I used in China last year for a "yearly plan." I was not informed in writing of the automatic renewal before I saw the charge on my credit card account.

I searched up Washington law. Not only is this practice very illegal, there has been recent legal precedent about companies having to pay damages for deceptive automatic subscription renewals. I have just filed a complaint with WA's Attorney General; currently researching Ontario's consumer protection laws since that's apparently where the company is headquartered. I will dispute the charge with my bank in the morning.

I did try to reach out to the company— the terms directed me to use this chatbot. This chatbot, which is programmed in such a way to be infuriatingly condescending and dismissive of consumer complaints, and blatantly wrong about how consumer rights work. I have screenshotted my interaction with the chatbot. Not interested in reaching out to the humans of this company anymore. When I calm down a bit more I will decide if I want to post the screenshots, but for now, I have attached it in my complaint to the state AG. If the company didn't want this fuck-ass chatbot to represent their stance on consumer rights, then they shouldn't direct customers to use it, at all.

Seventy dollars, man. Do not attempt to make me give up seventy dollars without a fight.

ISTFG I'm never doing full-time summer quarter again. My classes are interesting and my instructors are nice people, but I feel really stretched thin. Final week! I am so ready for it to be over whether I pass any classes or not.

Knitting updates
- Finished Keisarin Morsian socks. Beautiful and clever design with well-written pattern instructions :) Took me two actual months but I really enjoyed the knitting. I'm especially proud of the color selection— even though the background color is variegated, since everything in the colorway contrasts really well against the navy, the variegation doesn't overpower the actual design. Maybe I'm actually good at this color theory business! (says woman who stuck fairly close to the designer's color palette)
  One thing, though— both of the colors I used are from KnitPicks Stroll. YARN REVIEW: not great. It's really soft, and because of that it has the durability of raspberries in summer. Started pilling before I blocked the socks. Probably not the biggest issue for these socks because they're so densely knitted (36sts/10cm), but now I'm apprehensive about using the others I ordered...
- WIPS: Still working on Humle top— making a garment not only fit but also flatter me definitely has a learning curve. Started Bocallave by Asa Tricosa. Really intrigued by the construction and the finishing details! The pattern is pretty clear, but it definitely requires a lot of attention. I'm putting it on hold until the quarter ends.
Around the end of July I ordered yarn from this Danish website called Rito. My package arrived on the 13th. TL;DR: the website itself is legit and the customer service was decent. PostNord, on the other hand... I'm glad everything arrived promptly! But there were very few updates from PostNord while the package was on its way. I've done online shopping in both China and the US, and no delivery service is quite so uncommunicative :(

My (former) roommate is studying abroad in Sweden right now & I so want that to be me. I want to travel too :((( Let me out! (Or not, seeing as I live in the States :/)
